TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

Faithbook Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 01 July 2026 Last Updated: 20 August 2026

Welcome to Faithbook.

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Faithbook, including the website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Platform” or “Services”). Faithbook is a social media platform designed for Christian users to connect, share faith-led content, build community, and publish according to faith-based principles.

Faithbook is developed and operated under license by ABC Digital (Pty) Ltd (“ABC Digital,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a company registered in South Africa.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and ABC Digital (Pty) Ltd. By creating an account, accessing, or using Faithbook, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and any other policies referenced herein. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. The Faithbook Service

We provide Faithbook to help people of Christian faith connect with one another, share testimonies, encouragement, prayer requests, teachings, creative content, and other faith-aligned material, and grow in community.

The Services include features such as profiles, posts, comments, messaging, groups, pages, live streaming, search, notifications, and other tools we may offer from time to time. We may update, improve, or discontinue features as needed.

We do not charge you a fee to use the core Faithbook Services unless we expressly state otherwise (for example, optional premium features or tools). Certain features may be supported by limited, faith-aligned partnerships or sponsorships consistent with our mission.

2. Eligibility

To use Faithbook you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country).
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
  • Not be prohibited from using the Services under applicable law.
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information.

If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use Faithbook with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

We reserve the right to refuse service, close accounts, or restrict access at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • All activity that occurs under your account.
  • Keeping your account information accurate and up to date.

You may not share your account, create multiple accounts for abusive purposes, or transfer your account without our permission. Notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Your Commitments and Acceptable Use

In exchange for access to Faithbook, you agree to the following:

You will:

  • Use the Platform in a manner consistent with Christian values of respect, honesty, kindness, and integrity.
  • Comply with these Terms, our Community Guidelines, and all applicable laws.
  • Respect the rights and dignity of other users.
  • Provide accurate information and keep it updated.
  • Obtain any necessary permissions before posting content that includes other people or third-party material.

You will not:

  • Post, share, or promote content that is illegal, harmful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise violates our Community Guidelines.
  • Engage in bullying, doxxing, impersonation, scams, spam, or deceptive practices.
  • Post content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups.
  • Infringe intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of others.
  • Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without authorisation, or interfere with the proper functioning of the Platform.
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access or collect data from the Platform without our prior written permission.
  • Use Faithbook for commercial purposes in a way that violates these Terms or our policies (unless expressly permitted).
  • Upload viruses, malware, or any code designed to disrupt or harm the Platform or users.
  • Encourage or facilitate any of the above.

We want Faithbook to be a safe and edifying space. Content and behaviour that undermines this purpose may be removed, and accounts may be restricted or terminated.

5. Content You Create and Share

You retain ownership of the content you create and post on Faithbook (“Your Content”).

By posting or sharing Your Content, you grant ABC Digital a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, publicly perform, and display Your Content in connection with operating, providing, improving, and promoting the Platform. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except to the extent Your Content has been shared with others who have not deleted it, or where we need to retain it for legal, safety, or operational reasons.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to Your Content and the licence you grant us.
  • Your Content does not violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or any law.
  • Your Content does not infringe the rights of any third party.

We may remove or restrict access to Your Content if it violates these Terms or our policies, or if we are required to do so by law.

6. Our Content and Intellectual Property

The Faithbook name, logo, design, software, features, and all other materials we provide (excluding Your Content) are owned by or licensed to ABC Digital and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from our intellectual property except as expressly permitted by these Terms or with our prior written consent.

7. Safety, Community Standards, and Moderation

We are committed to fostering a respectful, faith-centred community. We enforce Community Guidelines that reflect Christian principles of love, truth, and mutual respect.

We may review content and accounts (using automated tools, human review, or both), remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, and take other actions we deem appropriate to protect users, uphold our standards, and comply with the law. We are not obligated to monitor all content but reserve the right to do so.

If you see content or behaviour that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines, please report it using the in-Platform tools.

8. Third-Party Content and Links

Faithbook may contain content from other users or links to third-party websites or services. We do not control or endorse third-party content and are not responsible for it. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and them.

9. Termination

You may stop using Faithbook and delete your account at any time through your account settings.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice, if:

  • You violate these Terms or our policies.
  • We are required to do so by law.
  • Your account has been inactive for an extended period.
  • We decide to discontinue the Services or a particular feature.
  • We believe it is necessary to protect the Platform, users, or others.

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property licences already granted, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.

10. Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not control what users post and are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any user content.

Faithbook is a community platform. We do not provide pastoral counselling, professional advice, or guarantee spiritual outcomes.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ABC DIGITAL (PTY) LTD AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE PLATFORM.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED SOUTH AFRICAN RAND (ZAR 100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in such cases, the limitations will apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ABC Digital (Pty) Ltd and its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes (for example, by posting a notice on the Platform, sending an email, or through in-app notification) and update the “Last Updated” date.

Your continued use of Faithbook after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform and may delete your account.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably. If unresolved, the dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country provide otherwise.

15. General Provisions

  • These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Platform.
  • If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
  • Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver.
  • You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign them freely.
  • Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship.
